ABSTRACT
Vascular access devices (VAD) are used increasingly in oncology patients for the management and palliative care of advanced cancer. The insertion of VAD is not without hazards, and carefully selecting the right device and ensuring good care are very important. However, Clinical practice is still lacking an evidence-based background. We review the guidelines related to the insertion and management of VAD.
